This court takes the request at the clerk's window, by mail or through the court's online portal. Deadline: before your scheduled court hearing, or before the judge on your court date; if you do not qualify by right, appear at the hearing and ask the judge, who may grant the course at their discretion.
- Written request (by mail) with full name, date of birth, citation or case number and phone number
- Plea of guilty or nolo contendere
- Check or money order for court costs and the administration fee
- Valid Texas driver license (age 17 or older), or active military or military family with a valid license; no CDL
Court costs and an administration fee are due at the time of request; no amounts appear on the court's DSC, process or fee pages.
You have 90 days to finish the course and turn in the court copy of your certificate and your Type 3A driving record, at the clerk's window or by mail.
Request at the scheduled hearing, online through the citation payment portal, by mail to 810 E. Overland, or in person at the Pebble Hills, Mission Valley, Northeast or Westside locations (Westside currently closed). Within 90 days deliver by mail or in person a copy of the Type 3A certified DPS record, the TDLR court copy of the certificate and a copy of your car insurance; if nothing arrives the court sends a notice to return and explain, and the judge may but need not extend.
