What it costs in El Paso County

Two separate payments: one to the court, one to us.

  • The court fee — paid to the court

When you ask the court for defensive driving you pay the court costs on your citation plus the court's driving-safety-course fee, both set and collected by the court. Every court sets its own amount, so confirm it with the court handling your citation.

  • The course fee — paid to us: $25

$25 covers the 6-hour TDLR-approved course, your certificate of completion and electronic submission to TDLR. Start free — you only pay when you pass.

  • The deadline

Court fees are set by the court and can change; the course fee is the only amount you pay Traffic Safety Institute.
