Florida law allows a 60–90 day window to complete the Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) course from the date you elect it. If you need an extension, you can try the following:

• Contact Palm Beach County Clerk of Court: Get in touch with the Traffic Division of the Clerk’s Office and ask about their policy for extending your completion deadline. In most Florida counties (including Palm Beach), it’s possible to request an extension – but it’s at the Clerk or judge’s discretion.
• File a Formal Extension Request: If an extension is allowed, you must submit a written request, explaining why you need more time.
• Complete the Course: Complete the course by the newly approved deadline.

If the Clerk denies your request, you can consider a hearing and ask a traffic court judge for more time. Be ready to present reasons like illness, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies.
